 In order to explain the Mexican wedding tradition, we must first be recognized that most of the families in Mexican culture is strongly influenced by the Catholic Church. Religious elements enclosed by the majority of customs and traditions, and as I'm sure you thought already, weddings are certainly no exception.

Once the couple exchanged their vows, their wedding sponsors known as El Padrino y la madrina place the rosary around the shoulders of the couple, starting with groom's shoulder and the shoulder of the bride, forming an eight shape. The priest says a prayer, like the following: "That the union to tie together the Rosary of the Virgin Mary is an inspiration to both of you.
